Mirrors Darkly Author Notes - Chapters 5 and 6

In Chapter 5, I introduce one of my favorite characters in this story, Althea Clark Thompson.  The part about her father, George, buying a home in the 1950's across the street from a then racially restricted neighborhood in West Los Angeles, is based on a true story.  My wife and kids and I were fortunate to live in that house in the early 2000's.  It had great views of Downtown L.A. and, on a clear day when the Santa Ana winds would blow in from the desert, all the way out to the San Jacinto mountains near Palm Springs.  Plus, we were fortunate to have some truly great neighbors across the street, Nancy and Keith.

In Chapter 6, we find out more of Stacy's backstory and how she and Darrin finally got together.  Stacy is a photographer and an artist.  A picture similar to the type of "acrylic pour art" she does as a hobby is included here.
